Wellcome to the world of the Plastic Beaches
The problem of plastic is something that has been affecting us for many years, but even more in these last 10 years, the increase of plastic in the environment increased considerably, affecting our health, flora and fauna of our planet.
For example, the most obvious problem that
has been mentioned globally in this last decade, has been marine pollution with
plastic, which has seriously damaged the ecosystem and will continue to do this
if we continue to use plastic in an uncontrolled manner.
Besides affecting the marine ecosystem, the plastic usually accumulates in the coasts, and this is because for the irresponsibility of the people, who for years have left the garbage on the beaches, often buried in the sand or directly in the sea, which has been accumulated over the years and has reached the terrible current consequences of environmental pollution in which we live.
One of the most serious cases that are caused by plastic pollution, is
the death of sea turtles, because they feed on jellyfish and crustaceans that
they often confuse by plastic bags with jellyfish and squibs or plastic tapes
with crabs, causing severe damage to their intestines causing the death, just
like birds too when they confuse small pieces of plastic for food.

That´s why
in Chile some measures have been taken to reduce the use of plastics and this
increase the pollution, such as the prohibition of plastic bags in stores by
recyclable cloth bags.
